  Welcome to the Suncoast of Florida. Let me tell you a little about Charlotte County and the surrounding area. Looking to escape, soaking up the sun at the beach or how about sailing away in to the sunset. Watching the Dolphins swim and play on the boat’s bow wake. Surrounded by nature. Where the eagles soar, otters play and the fish are plentiful. Well then, take a look and I would be pleased to show you around the area.

  First of all, Money magazine has ranked the Punta Gorda and area, which includes all of Charlotte County as the second best place in the U.S. to live in the past. Spokesman for Money magazine, said data is collected on each city in categories that include: economy, healthcare, crime rate, housing, transit, weather, arts and education. Each area is ranked according to national percentile. Other magazines ranks Charlotte County on the Top of their lists: Best Place to Live, Sail, Fish and Golf with endless outdoor activities residents enjoy average temperatures of 75 degrees for the year, also recognized for Best Small Cities for Business, Career and Future job growth.

  Southwest Florida weather is in the sub-tropical zone. The weather here is very moderate at all times of year. The Gulf of Mexico keeps the area cool in the summer with its gentle breezes, and keeps the area mild in the winter.

  Summers average is approximately 90 degrees. This sounds hot, but the temperature rarely goes above 93 degrees. The nights the summer with average in the lows around 72 degrees. June, July, August and September are considered the rainy months. The morning starts out clear and sunny, followed by a building of fluffy clouds. Then a thunderstorm starts in the early evening. Summers rainstorms provide the bulk of the yearly rainfall.

  Fall, Spring, and Winter. These seasons we can group together. It would be hard to say we even have a winter at all. The Fall, Winter, and Spring is where the weather really shines. Even in the winter, the average daily high temperature is a perfect 73 degrees with nights dropping into the lower 50's. Freezes rarely occur. The winter has very little rainfall.

  Charlotte Harbor has some of the best fishing on the west coast of Florida. Boca Grande Pass has long been recognized as the Tarpon fishing Capitol of the world. Charlotte Harbor is the second largest estuary in Florida, and one of the largest in the United States. There are Snook, Redfish, Trout, Jack Crevelle, Shark, Cobia, Spanish Mackerel and, of course, the majestic Tarpon.

  Charlotte Harbor is where Ponce de Leon sailed in to the harbor looking for the fountain of youth and he found it the Warm Mineral Springs "the Original Fountain of Youth" is are right down the road.
